About Oswestry Tenant Working Group
Oswestry Tenant Working Group was set up in 2000 to represent the interests of council house tenants in the Oswestry area. We started under Oswestry Borough Council but now we deal with Shropshire Council.
Anyone who rents a house or flat from Shropshire Council can join and take part. Find out why you should join.
We take part in informal Walkabouts in council-run housing areas with representatives of the council and police (often the local PCSO) twice yearly.
The aim is to bring the community together to identify and tackle issues of concern such as dog fouling, graffiti and fly tipping and to discuss appropriate solutions.
They also give the opportunity to identify useful long-term projects, such as regeneration, adding extra litter bins and developing community gardens.
Walkabouts happen in council-run accommodation in the following areas:
- St Martins
- Weston Rhyn
- Ruyton XI Towns
